The Utoffeea Story: From Humble Beginnings to a Canadian Favourite
Utoffeea, founded by mom-of-4 Cate Dyck, started as a labor of love in her small home kitchen. From a young age, Cate always enjoyed baking and took on the challenge of crafting the perfect toffee. After experimenting with recipes, she launched Utoffeea in 2012, just in time for the Christmas craft markets. Her layered toffee, chocolate, and nut bark was an instant success!
A Sweet Evolution
What began as a small local operation has grown steadily over the last 12 years. Today, Utoffeea operates out of a production facility in West St. Paul, MB, and is sold in over 400 retailers across Canada. Despite its growth, the heart of Utoffeea remains the same—creating handcrafted treats that bring people joy.
Bringing People Together, One Treat at a Time
Utoffeea is more than just sweets. It’s about bringing people together through food… because the best moments happen around the dinner table! An old Irish proverb says: “Laughter is brightest in the place where the food is.”, and that reflects Utoffeea’s mission.
A Team Effort
What began as Cate’s solo endeavour has grown into a dedicated team. Together, they create Utoffeea’s signature Handcrafted Toffee, the beloved Toffee Popcorn line, seasonal Caramel Apples, and even a seasonal Ice Cream Shop. This team maintains the artisanal quality that sets Utoffeea apart.

In 2018, Utoffeea was recognized as “Canada’s Best Toffee” by Culinary Adventure Co. Every product is carefully made by hand, preserving the love and quality of the original recipes. More than just a delicious treat though, Utoffeea reflects Cate’s original mission: to create joy and bring people together around food, sparking connections one sweet bite at a time.
